Members Get Updates on Geisinger’s Initiatives, Learn About Highly-Rated ER at Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital
Attendees had an opportunity to meet and greet with the leadership team at Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital, learn about the latest initiatives of the Geisinger system, as well as hear about how the emergency department at Geisinger Bloomsburg ranks high compared to other EDs across the state at the first of two Business After Hours this month on Oct. 10.
Members in attendance were able to enjoy some delicious appetizers prepared by the food services staff at GBH while catching up or meeting new business contacts. Attendees also had a chance to take a tour of the hospital, learn about some of Geisinger’s ongoing initiatives aimed at maintaining the health of its patients and the community at large, as well as hear about how GBH’s emergency department is ranked in the top five percent in Pennsylvania for emergency care, based on patient survey responses from Oct. 2017-2018 and compared to 94 other Pennsylvania emergency departments in the Press Ganey database, a third-party patient experience service provider. For patients in need to emergency services, the GBH ED can often provide a better patient experience, and if the patient’s condition warrants a higher level of care than can be delivered at GBH, the patient can easily be transferred to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Business After Hours provide regular opportunities to build business relationships while learning about the services offered by other Chamber members. The next Business After Hours will be held at Camp Victory on Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
